Manchester airport started to charge for dropping someone at the airport terminals:
Drop-off areas are located directly outside the terminal building at departures level. So, you can pull up right outside, where you can touch down just long enough to unload luggage.
From Tuesday 10th July, Manchester Airport is introducing a tariff for dropping off passengers at the airport. Passengers can use a free drop off area, from which a shuttle bus will transport passengers free of charge to the terminals. Alternatively, you can choose to be dropped off directly outside the terminals and train station. The charge for this is £3 for five minutes and £4 for 10 minutes. Also, it is not allowed to pick up passengers in the prop off areas, and there is a penalty of 100 pounds for doing that.
